Research

Doing a little research for Aimées (and my…) story. It’s a romantic one so this picture by Annie Leibovits is just want I need. Going to the library tomorrow and picking up something romantic… any recommendations? Other than Romeo and Juliet I mean? More pictures here.

Lovely!

Found this lovely site called The Land Between Solar Systems… Not sure how (like always) and there’s just tones of pretty pictures! She’s an artist with her own Etsy shop. Some nude stuff that I could live without, but whatever floats your boat. Some nice pictures I found there.

I really like this tattoo, very art nouveu.

I like it…

I wish she had nipples though, looks weird without them. I like it, I would have it on my wall as art.

Right now…

Obsessing about photography, I spent way too much time looking at pictures on the net. I like Ellen Von Unwerth and it was funny because I’ve always thought that some pictures of Dita that made me think of the Hole album “Live through this” and guess what, Ellen took those pictures…

And she also took my favorite picture of Vanessa Paradis are also by Ellen.

This picture is pretty damn nice too, I love the hair!! (I think it's a wig though)

All pictures found here.

I like

It’s this software that makes Polaroid’s. I don’t know why but Polaroid’s are just cool. It cuts the head off of people but I’m sure you can get around that somehow. Get software here

Trying to catch the moon

Was not at all easy. It’s a very pretty moon with something rusty-red haze around it but there was no way I could capture it… How do you take good pictures of the moon? Anyway, I think this should be the beginning of me trying to take more pictures.

Lady Bird

Yesterday I could see that they were about to bloom so this morning when I woke up I was like a kid on Christmas and immediately looked out the window to see if they were in bloom, and they were! My “Lady Bird” (Papaver commutatum) is so cute, looks so fragile and delicate with the big flowers on the small stems. I wish I had more of these, next year I will.

Poppies!!

I actually managed to fail with some of my poppies, guess I didn’t water them enough this spring? Some made it though and they are in bloom, love them! And I’ll get more and treat them better next season. (I'm collecting seeds if anyone wants some)

Love the color of this one. The mother looks like the one below, opium poppies (papaver somniferum) I found on a meadow around here. For some reason a few decided to be pink and I want more of them.

Frilly purple opium poppy

Corn poppy (papaver rhoeas) "Shirley double"

More corn poppy, same seed mix, "Shirely double" but not double

Not in bloom yet, Papaver commutatum "Ladybird"

PLANS FOR TODAY

1. Get off the computer. Spending way too much time doing nothing… just looking at pictures and day dreaming. Having a hard time leaving Susanna’s Sketchbook.

2. Clean my room (?). It’s a complete mess and I think most of the stuff is just junk that I never use or is actual garbage like socks with hole in them and balled up paper.

3. Making an inspiration wall above the desk, fill it with things to make me work on my story (so so close on giving up on it, again.)

4. Laundry (and try to remember to read on the back and make sure not to use more washing powder than necessary)

5. Find flowers for June-July, there is nothing in bloom right now. My peonies are too small to blossom…

Found this picture by accident…

The kid in the middle is not only giving me the creeps, it looks a lot like my neighbor, The Demon Child! Seriously, the look he’s (I think it is a boy) giving that little girl is something from a horror movie, scary!

Found it here

Some (crappy) pictures

Took these when I was out on a longer walk with my dog. They aren’t great but at least they’ll show what it looks like around here.

Ew!

I forget to check the lilies daily and yesterday I spotted this nasty little bug sitting on my Tiger Lily.

It's a bee! (or something)

My allium is in bloom and it seems like I’m not the only one that appreciates it. I have to remeber to get more of this...

SPRING TIME IN MY TINY BATTERED GARDEN

Vitsippa Anemone nemorosa
The lawn, covered with daisies
Some kind of allium
Bleeding heart (love the english name)

TULIPS
For some reason the deer left some tulips this year, which I’m very pleased about. Haven’t seen them in awhile and I thought I didn’t like them, maybe to protect myself since they usually gets eaten? Anyway, I like tulips and I’m buying some more for next year and I hope the deer is continuing to be nice to me.

My current wallpaper

I sort of like it, I took the picture by the way and I think it looks cool. Not sure when I took it but I was just snapping away trying some different things and voila… but maybe I should change to something a little bit brighter, looks gloomy doesn’t it.

Is that the time? I should be in bed reading!! I’ll never make a 101 books in 1001 days…

Just placed an order…

For five different kinds of poppies, still this weird obsession about them. But I don’t know what I will do with them, and I also know I’ll order more poppies from this other company later. Not good, or maybe it’s great, maybe there will be poppies all over my garden this summer instead of weeds?

Photo by me, from Nyckelvikens garden last summer

Modern Swedish Ruins

I like old worn-out houses so I really liked this site I found by accident. Makes me want to go out and look for some abandon places, I know there were one or two places like that growing up but I don’t think they are many left around here anymore.

Friday...?!

I honestly thought it was Thursday today but guess not. Have no idea how that happened? What happened with Thursday? Or maybe it was Wednesday or some other day I managed to lose, anyway, Friday came as a surprise… Tea time for sure.

Managed to get this picture of a poppy in the garden when I got back from the walk, kind of like it, looks pretty good, if I may say so myself.

David Creedon

I was actually looking for some inspiration for my bedroom and I ended up at The Royal Photographic Society and found this guy, David Creedon. The series called “Ghosts of the Faithful Departed” is a treat for the eye. Old worn-out stuff is just so beautiful.
