Sunday...

Spent the day at the Dance museum and the Alphonse Mucha exhibit, it was a little too small perhaps and it as close to being crowded. In the gift shop I found two cute tin cans that I bought, including several postcards.
Then returning some books and getting some new ones from the library, like Miranda Innes “Traditional Quilts From Around The World” for the third time, I really must get my own copy of that one.
Home for a walk with the dog and then… Tea and toasties, nothing could spoil this day. Not me getting my period on the way home and cramps, not the fact that everyone is burning leaves in their gardens today or the fact that “someone” called and asked me to work with less the 2 hours until “someone” wanted me to be there. Mom was an angel and said I wasn’t home and I just sipped my tea and not giving a damn.
Blueberry tea and toasties with cheese and tomatoes, yummy.

Teapots

Found a blog about teapots, a lot of them are really cute but I’m not so sure you would be able to pour tea into a cup without spilling. Teapots teapots teapots

Hello Kitty at H&M

Hello Kitty never goes out of style, remember having Hello Kitty stuff as a kid and now YEARS later I still like it and love the fact that a simple store like “Hennes” have Hello Kitty lip balm.

Shoes!

I found shoes I like so naturally I can’t seem to find them anywhere in Sweden… If you know where in Sweden to get these or if you know of a good online store that ship to Europe let me know, or better, buy them for me. If anyone wants to send me some I think I’m a size 6½ ;P I think it’s strange that I can’t find a store that sell them in Sweden, they are so cute why aren’t people selling them, or have I simply not been looking for them hard enough? Perhaps there are just waiting for me somewhere out there, some odd little shoe store away from the main street…

Razorblade

Thanks to Retro to go I found this mirror, isn’t it cool? Not so sure it would look good in my room but I like it. Maybe in a pink bathroom it would look nice?

Poppies!

(Above seen with common wheat, photo from Odla, a Swedish gardening site)
I want an entire field with poppies. They are just so… intensive and they look so fragile, like they are made out of paper. I have seeds but I have to decide where to plant them and it’s not that easy, it has to be somewhere where my brother won’t step on it or manage to hit it with a ball, it has to be somewhere where my dad won’t walk on it and/or think it’s a weed and destroy it/ run it over with the lawnmower. Tricky, tricky…

(Photo by Monasette found at North Atlanitic Skyline, this might be the nicest picture I've ever seen of a poppy and is now my current desktop image)

When is Smith & Hawkens opening in Sweden?

Found this place through Vill ha! Vill ha! and this seems to be an excellent place to spend a grey dull Monday at. Lots of nice gardening things including a plant I’ve been wanting for some time, Jack Frost… Here where I live it feels like all good gardening stores close down or get bought up by this crappy store chain that I won’t mention by name.

Sunday

Started off at Åhlens where they had the Taika cups and they were really nice, perhaps a little small but at least 3,5-4dl I think. They cost 159kr but I found another place where they sell them but only to grosser and things like that so my mom gets to buy them for me, she has a business so…
Then off to NK, a place I rarely visit to for Sid Dickens tiles, (and yes they were amazing. Love them, want them all.) where I bumped into the Swedish prime minister and his wife. But I came across a cute teacup which was much more interesting instead. I have only seen the coffee mugs and never liked them but the teacup. It’s a remake of a popular Swedish 60’s design by Sting Lindberg and I want it! Lately there so much things that I want, I’m usually not like that.
Managed to pull myself away from the teacup and went home, on the way I stopped at the tea shop where I bought a new tea, Violet and grabbed a pile of books at the library. So, it was a pretty good Sunday.

Up for grabs

I have three books that I know I’ll never read and instead of having them filling up the bookcase I’m giving them away. They’re all in English.
“Widow for one year” by John Irving
“The Cider house rules” by John Irving (Snatched by Amiée)
“The Canterbury tales” by Chaucer

I also have a bag with “Sencha Makoto”, Japanese green tea and I’m apparently not a big fan of green tea so…

And I also have five rotted cutting from a jade plant which are super easy plants, a dead guy could handle them.

Just mail me if you see something you want.

Tiles by Sid Dickens

What can I say, love them! Think they would look good on the wall, too bad the only place I’ve found (so far) that sell these in Sweden want 950kr per tile! I was thinking 500kr and that would be sort of fine, buy one per year, perhaps have them on your birthday/Christmas list. If you find these tiles cheap, or at least cheaper let me know.

Pooh Cup

This used to be my favourite cup, I remember it was pretty expensive and the memory of breaking my other favourite cup I didn’t use it much, when ever I do I’m always afraid that I’ll smash it. It’s so cute thought, little Eyore disappearing. It’s from Royal Doulton.

Cute bugs!

All of these cute things are from http://www.monsoon.co.uk/ and call me a girly girl if you want but I LOVE these things, all sprakly and pink but in a good way. Not in that Pink Giggling Girl kind of way that we don't like.

I want this!

This might be one of the cutest hats I’ve seen in a long time. And I’ve seen plenty of hats during my years, but this? Cute! They have cute bows and other accessories and also have this hoodie that I want.

Lavender

Never been a fan, except for the color perhaps. The smell, I don’t know but lately it has changed and I can’t understand why, it still smells the same. It is said to be pretty easy to take cutting from it and April is said to be the time so today ladies and gentlemen I’m going to “borrow” some lavender from neighbors that haven’t cut there shrubs yet. So, just cut a few stems and plant them (pretty deep) in sandy soil and give it some water, and time. It said that they are rather dull the first year.

When night comes, beware all you lavender shrubs…

Thursday…

Was out with the dog and when walking through a particular large water puddle I realize that there’s a hole in my boots. Wet feet, great… But when I got back home again I found a letter addressed to me in the mailbox! And not only a letter, there was tea in it as well. Thanks Aimée!

This one is for Hélène…

Here is one way for you to organize your books…

My favorite tea cup

Actually, I think it’s a mug but anyway… Julie K asked
to see teacups so... First out is Tigger, bought at Ica Maxi for something like 100kr. Then there's a cup I believe is from Duka but I'm not sure, it says "Paradis" under it and it holds about 5,5dl. Tigger is slightly smaller.

Dahlia, it’s easy to get addicted…

There are SO many, there’s too many, I WANT THEM ALL! Plant them in pots and decorate your terrace or balcony. They seem to come in all colors and shapes and aren’t that difficult to grow. At least not the first year, mine are a bit grumpy now and will flower really late in the summer. Perhaps I didn’t take that good care of them during the winter? Well, I’ll learn more and become a master because I WANT THEM ALL!

Craving...

You would have to look for a long time before you found something like this in Sweden, and still I have a feeling you would be disappointed. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to find nice fabric in Sweden. These would make great pillows for my soon-to-be tea spot, and defiantly a few quilts. Why are all other fabrics so boring? I could use this as wallpaper!

The fabrics are from Alexander Henry

And I’m not the only one, Pillows for the people likes this too. But, hey, grow your own lavender and get some cool fabric and make your own. Or buy some and say you made them =P

Latest obsession...

Is ”Taika” from Iittala, sure, the cup itself is rather dull but the lovely dream décor is just my style. The only bad thing is that there’s no teapot and that they are pretty small, the mug only holds 4dl.
