Paul Newman 1925-2008

I’m going to watch “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (one of my favorite movies of all time) with a big bowl of popcorn…

Twins by Marcy Dermansky

I’ve just started to read this book (which Aimée was kind enough to give me) and man… you are right, it’s pretty bad. I’ve only read 30 something pages and one of the main characters is a complete psycho who hates her parents, brother, everyone except her sister who she seems a little too found of. This is just… Sue, the psycho sister is what the twin in “Single White Female” must have been like before her sister died. There is no empathy at all and I cannot like her one bit.

Gardening

All gardening things will (probably) be posted on The Burtonesque Garden from now on because I have been bitten by the gardening bug (again, and a dead wasp ouch!) and feel like spamming like crazy.

Trying to catch the moon

Was not at all easy. It’s a very pretty moon with something rusty-red haze around it but there was no way I could capture it… How do you take good pictures of the moon? Anyway, I think this should be the beginning of me trying to take more pictures.

Lisa Marie as Vampira

Ed Wood was on TV the other day and Lisa is a cute Vampira. Is it just me or has she not stared in a movie since she and Tim Burton broke up?

Two dreams about owls

I dream the other day that there was an old in our oak on the back and I tried to get a photo of it but something was always getting in the way and people didn’t seem to understand why I wanted to take a picture of it and were not helpful at all.

Then two days ago I dreamt was walking on the hill behind our old place along with my childhood friend when suddenly an owl swopped down, a very clumsy landing and I rushed to get my camera, when I came back there were only two eagles there and I got upset for missing the opportunity to get an owl on camera.

According to Dream Moods A-Z
Owl: To see an owl in your dream, symbolizes wisdom, insight and virtue. The owl is also synonymous with death and darkness.

To hear the hoot of an owl, denotes disappointments and forewarns that death creeps closely in the wake of joy and health.

Picture: To dream that you are taking a picture, suggests that you need to get a good understanding and gain more information on some issue. You need to focus more attention to some situation or relationship. Perhaps you feel that you need to recapture some past moments in a relationship.

I don’t think my owl in my dreams has anything to do with wisdom or darkness, I like owls. Sure it’s getting darker now but… if I was thinking about the fact that it’s getting darker wouldn’t I just dream that? Owls to me does not symbolize death or darkness, they are a cool bird that I have never seen in real life (other than at a zoo). And taking pictures is something that I wish I was better at.

Sure it could be, if I really want to believe in this, about my newly found hypochondriac side where I think I have some kind of illness. I took me awhile before I realized that it was my rib and not a lump in my chest… But you can always make things fit if you really want it too.

Science of Sexy

Corny and silly yes but Dita was so cute in the beginning as a brunette, adorable. I barely even recognized her, because it is her, right?

They have this thing on the site, Sexy Talk and I thought that was interesting. What’s sexy to you? For me, I think it’s all about confidence; anyone can be sexy, big or small, short or tall, just if that confidence and anyone can pull it off. Sure, some nice stockings and a pencil skirt or a feather boa might help you get there but basically, confidence is all you need. This is all in theory since I’m not very confident so, I could be wrong…

What did I do today?

I manage to find a cute coat but that was it. I don’t think it’s a very warm coat but it was cute. I can cross of autumn-must-have item number 2. I do not like shopping, I like the idea of shopping but I never seem to be able to find anything I like. I was standing there trying things on and I just felt stupid and awkward, I felt like a little girl dressing up and I wasn’t comfortable at all. Nothing really seemed to fit either (is there something wrong with me?), it was loose in all the wrong places and to tight at all the wrong places… Then just to top it off I ran it to this annoying salesperson desperate to sell and just couldn’t accept the fact that I didn’t like the raincoat they had at the store, so annoying. And then there was this bitch at the pharmacy, so rude. I asked her for some help to find something and she basically bark at me that it’s very easy to go online and find what I need so that I know what I’m looking for when I get there. Oookay, and her job is to do what exactly? Annoying but fortunately it was the last thing that happened before going home so it didn’t spoil my day.

Oh, I want a purple nail polish and a dark red one so I bought some but the purple one was too blue and the dark red one was not red enough and was closer to brown so if anyone wants some nail polish I have some. I also have a pink one which I have no idea why I bought in the first place, close to the counter maybe? (I tried to take some pictures of them but it was impossible to capture the right colors)

Burtonizing the garden

I fear that the garden bug has got me once more, I want a Burtonesque garden (I just promised myself not to waste money) and a Corylus avellana ‘Contorta’ is in my opinion very Burton so I have to get me one of those. And it’s cutting time, have to remember to take my garden shears with me and get as many cuttings as I possibly can of boxwood, yew, privet and lavender (and whatever I have forgotten to mention).
