But it’s just so much weeds there, it will take me weeks to get rid of them, and then there’s just clay and rocks so I have to do something about that as well. The easy thing would be to plant roses there but I like this combo so much, it looks so nice! But also, I fear that people passing by on the road will pick flowers and simply mess it up, so things with thorns would be a good thing.

In the picture, Dahlia “Porcelain” and tall verbena (verbena bonariensis). I think I would throw in some kind of grass and some Mexican aster as well.
